I have in my possession and am reviewing the master of Orchid Machine. if all goes well, pressing is the next step!
I’m playing with Austin Cobra Players at Scoot Inn. Bee vs Moth starts the show at 7:30.
so the album title has changed to “Orchid Machine” after an image from the new Brothers Quay film, The Piano Tuner of Earthquakes.
I’m going to see the band Serena Maneesh tonight and plan to spend the rest of the weekend sending mixes off for mastering, which i’m excited about!
there were two shows in September with the new music co-op, both of which went well, and the Second Annual Petkus Improv Birthday Jam will happen sunday at the hideout theater at 8 PM.
Donny Who Loved Bowling has posted a rough mix of our tribute track to Syd Barrett, “Late Night” from The Madcap Laughs at http://www.myspace.com/donnywholovedbowling. The finished version will premiere on Saturday night’s edition of Progopolis, which streams from http://thedividingline.com/p at 7 PM pacific time Saturday night.
Goodbye, Syd. You’re one of the very best and it’s sad that we will not see your like again.
there’s a new guitar instrumental called “memorial day” posted on the myspace page. enjoy!
I’m playing with the New Music Co-op today at noon (weather permitting) at Central Market North in Austin, TX. We’re playing Terry Riley’s landmark minimalist piece, “In C” as part of the Texas Community Music Festival. Admission is free, but there is no provision for rescheduling or postponement due to weather.

okay, so here’s the deal: the myspace page has an untitled song on it. what i’d like you to do is listen to the track and then email me with your title. if i end up using the title i’ll give you autographed copies of the Donny Who Loved Bowling CD Tree Fort, the Toxic Bag Records sampler featuring DWLB and me, and Weight/Loss/Money when it’s released. i’ll also credit you in the W/L/M liner notes, and…let’s see, put your picture up as the art for the no-longer-untitled song if you want.
how can you pass this up? creative synergy! artistic collaboration! fame and power!!!!!! it’s all yours! just listen to the damn thing!
